How to be 100% Sure You Will Go to Heaven

If you were to die today, on a scale of 1 to 100, how sure would you be that you would go to Heaven? Would you say you are 50% sure? 75% sure? 80%? How sure do you think you are?

The good news is that it is possible to be 100% sure! The Bible says in 1 John 5:13, "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life..."

So, what are "These things" God wants us to know in order to be 100% sure we are going to Heaven when we die?

1. WE ARE ALL SINNERS — Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

2. THERE IS A PENALTY FOR SIN — Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We get our wages on payday, but the Bible says sin also has a payday. Sin must be paid for. Some think they can get their sins paid for by being a good person, or being baptized, or joining a church.  But the Bible says "the wages of sin is death.”

3. JESUS PAID OUR PENALTY   Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

1Corinthians15:3-4 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

The Bible says that Jesus died, was buried, and rose from the dead in order to pay for our sin.

When Jesus died on the cross, He died to pay for the sins of the entire world. But just because Jesus died for everyone doesn't mean that everyone will automatically go to Heaven. In order to get our sins forgiven and go to Heaven, we must respond to what Christ did on the cross for us.

4. RECEIVE JESUS BY CALLING ON HIM

We must receive His payment for our sin.  How? Romans 10:9 says, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved."

Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

If you believe that you are a sinner and that Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and rose again to pay for your sin, and you would like to call on Him to forgive your sin and be your Savior, you can pray something like this (as long as you mean it from your heart):

“Dear Jesus, I know that I am a sinner.  I don’t deserve to go to Heaven, but I believe you died on the cross for my sin.  And the best I know how, I trust You and You alone to forgive my sin and take me to Heaven when I die.”
